Movie Reviews

Eye for Film - 9/10 by Amber WilkinsonBuilds up an emotional head of steam that draws audiences towards it.
Wall Street Journal - 8/10 by Joe MorgensternThe film succeeds on the strength of the boy, and the remarkable young actor who plays him, Kodi Smit-McPhee.
Los Angeles Times - 7/10 by Carina ChocanoFor all its sad moments, Romulus, My Father is a love story between father and son kept aloft by unalloyed admiration.
ReelViews - 6/10 by James BerardinelliThis is a workmanlike motion picture with solid performances. It's just that the superior production values are used in service of a mediocre storyline.
Metromix.com - 5/10 by Geoff BerkshireGaita clearly had a rough childhood, but while the tragedies of his young life pile up on screen the drama remains frustratingly inert.
San Francisco Chronicle - 5/10 by Peter HartlaubThe performances are the best part of this uneven film.
User Review - 10/10 by Azly Jdude. how is eric bana so bad in the other boleyn girl and so awesome here? ::sigh:: but really great movie. however, seeing this and home song stories, i'm starting to wonder if there are a lot of gorgeous, somewhat skanky, but suicidal and stuck-in-the-middle-of-nowhere single mom's in Australia or something. huh.
User Review - 10/10 by Sabrina MThis movie was very touching, the young boy (son) has such great insight to humanity and his love for his family carries him through the hard times. The father is nothing more than an amazing man, his devotion, passion, and strength superseed most. A great movie I thought.
User Review - 10/10 by Çi?dem Tit is a touching film, which astonished me much more than i expected.
User Review - 10/10 by Stacy CBased on the memoirs of Raimond Gaita this tale shows of the deep morals his father had and Raimond's ever absent mother. Through everything this boy had to face and deal with in his young life, he came to be an educated and successful man. This is a powerful and emotional film, perhaps a little slow-moving but brilliantly portrayed nonetheless. I thought Eric Bana was excellent as was the young Kodi Smit-Mcphee.
