CineVue - 6/10 by Jamie NeishWhat Bernardi has achieved is a frank, shrewd, well-written and very well performed film that incorporates prominent, under-explored transgender and LGBT themes that challenges preconceived notions and ideas.

Maximillian Befort delivers as the Alpha Male Romeo who charms the pants off of everyone around him. The chemistry between Okon and Befort transcends the screen. I felt like a fly on the wall watching their lives unfold. The script adeptly handles the gravity of the situation interspersed with humor, romance, heartbreak, angst, longing...

User Review - 8/10 by Jake PThis German film is focussed on the journey of a gay trans man, who discovers his attraction to men while beginning his transition. It's a slightly outdated movie, and there's quite a bit of transphobic language used by side characters, but there is a happy ending. What I loved most about the casting and plot is that the protagonist is a masculine trans guy! Most mainstream transmasc representation androgynises or feminises trans men, which this film didn't do. I'd recommend this film to trans men, provided you prepare yourself beforehand. The protagonist was also shown browsing internet sites for info on phalloplasty and top surgery, which was a detail I appreciated, and he is pre-op.

Moving into a new dorm, Lukas is assigned to the womenâ(TM)s ward as heâ(TM)s not yet officially male. He decides to endure and does his best to fit in with the students, going out, having fun, awkwardly, but with determination. Things get confusing when Lukas meets Fabio, a tough-acting, handsome man who is the king of the local gay scene. He sleeps with everyone, retaining glory and leaving his companions with a social status of a "slut". Lukas- previously exclusively heterosexual- starts to fall for Fabio. Rick Okon does a good job playing Lukas, and an insightful direction guarantees that what is basically your standard âboy meets boyâ? â"story gets fleshed out and gains personality. The story is simple, but it explores its themes thoroughly. And itâ(TM)s good to see a movie that handles transphobia, hypocricy and general intolerance within the gay community, all frustratingly real phenomena. Well constructed, honest and nuanced, âRomeosâ? takes what relatively little itâ(TM)s got and spins it in the smartest of ways.

Excelente actuacion del personaje principal las protesis lucen muy reales y lo maneja de forma natural.
