User ReviewCrow SAbsolutely brilliant comedy. Criminally under-rated. I HATE most films labeled "Comedy", and with good reason. It's the only genre that out-performs "Horror" with astonishingly poor contributions, but Roller Town is different. I gave this film 4-Stars, not solely as a "Comedy", but in overall quality. I watched this with 3 people on a Saturday night with nothing else to do. 4 years later we all still make references to the material, instantly recognize all of them, and laugh. If any of us could actually purchase a copy, we would have done so by now. Do yourself a favor and watch this before it disappears again. What time is it?
User ReviewShae SIt did not disappoint. Minor issues aside, it's great fun, and very funny.
User ReviewBri Vsurprisingly not That bad roll on brother
User ReviewEmmanuel SIf you like the weird, unpredictable comedy of Picnicface, then you've probably already seen this without anyone's recommendation.
User ReviewTroy FThere's something about this movie by comedy troupe Picnicface that you can't help but enjoy. The spoofy BeeGee's musical interludes, the telephones (fruit-inspired), the accidentally-suicidal mobsters, THAT voice on Music and the dance movie cliches throughout--all are pretty funny. The package actually comes together quite nicely (as does Leo's "package" in his hilarious sex/musical sequence with "classically trained roller skater" Julia). That is, until the last 5-10 minutes, which were a bit of a death spiral. Endings are always tough, but this one seemed random and unfunny compared to the rest of the movie. But, I'm willing to forgive a bad ending and say it's worth a watch, just don't expect too much! It's a spoof movie, Canadian-made and probably best enjoyed by anyone who was actually around during disco. We know that people actually did wear their hair that way and those clothes were once in fashion. It's almost unbearable to watch, yet oh so funny.
User ReviewJay HI loved their original trailer for this film when picnicface was raising money to produce the film. However, the film itself is ungrounded, gratuitous and sloppy. Not to mention, there are some significant casting changes between the original trailer and the final film that make no sense.
User ReviewErin DA sycadelic movie based in the 70's around the craze of Roller Skating. This movie i did not really like the only thing i enjoyed about the movie was the retro stuff they brought in to make the movie. They had the big stereos that we used to carry around before the walk-man and the mp3 players. The really nifty thing i saw was a record played used in a car like a CD player in the car that was kewl. The rest of the movie was poor and i felt the only way you would enjoy this movie would be if you were high. If your a roller skate fan give it a go but it was not for me.
