Urban CinefileAndrew L. UrbanThe combination of aerial photography with archival material provides plenty of texture not just eye candy, and the simplicity of the film allows the giant IMAX images to rule
Common Sense MediaRenee SchonfeldBeautiful visuals, rewarding story of transcontinental train
User ReviewSeattle SIt's like train porn, deep incredible sound and stunning visuals get any railroad enthusiast all hot and bothered
User ReviewJonny MI think that this train movie is the best one ever! The CP 2816 is such a historical steam locomotive and one of my favourites. I hope the DVD and BLURAY for the movie comes out soon!!
User ReviewSuzanne DSaw this movie in the Denver IMAX Theatre - we all loved it. Would like to rent for my Canadian friends.
User ReviewEddie GThe best IMAX movie I have seen yet. I liked it better then Everest which had held my top spot for the last 10 years. The story behind the building of the railway is amazing and the way they used the maps to show you how it was built was cool. They placed cameras all over the train and tied all the various film segments together to make you feel like you were traveling with them. I was in Victoria, BC over the summer and saw this and went back and saw it a total of 3 times. My wife thinks I am nuts and I agree but I can not wait for the day this comes out on blue ray.
User ReviewJosh SAwesome show. If you're at a Science museum where this is showing, buy a ticket. Great story about the making of the Canadian Pacific Railroad.
User ReviewCarl CRocky Mountain Express film is totally awesome. The film takes you on a magical journey with the Canadian Pacific Railwayâ(TM)s #2816 over the Canadian Rockies. Not only do you get great shots of 2816, but the scenery across Canada is breath taking. The route is Canadaâ(TM)s first transcontinental railways. This film is a must-see for all railroad enthusiasts and everyone who wants to experience the beauty and majesty of Godâ(TM)s creation.
