Full Plot Details

This is the story of Romeo. A dude who was living the life. He had the works - the mansion to live in, the chicks to party with and the cars to be driven around in. Until one day, the family he was the favorite pet of, decided to move and left him back, abandoned on the mean streets of Mumbai. Romeo is now faced with situations he has never been in before. He encounters four strays, who scare the daylights out of him. But soon, he smooth talks his way into their hearts and he makes friends. Then, Romeo finds love! He encounters the beautiful, ravishing Laila, the most beautiful girl he has ever seen - and he loses his heart to her at first sight. Finally, he encounters a villain! The dreaded Don of the area - Charlie Anna. The Don who everyone is scared of. So hop on to the adventure as Romeo, wins friendship, love and a new life - inspite of Charlie Anna and his gang! Watch how Romeo turns into - Roadside Romeo! This Diwali - Get ready for a barking good time!!

And is it not like a Mulan where it is just set in the country....this Disney movie was very Bollywood and very India. The kids wanted to go see it even w/o subtitles and loved it. They sang the songs the whole way home!
User Review - 8/10 by Moksh JRoadside Romeo I loved the movie and Charlie Anna rocks in the movie. More so, as he says in the movie, â??easta, westa, Charlie Anna bestaâ??. Javed Jafrey being such a versatile actor, completes himself by giving voice to animated character, specially as a voice over artist. He was down right hilarious from his semi-abusive baskets to giving the autograph. His style of calling Rom-e-aoo (Romeo) Romeo has a gang of three plus one Guru voiced by Vrajesh Hirjee whose always ready to give advice like the Munna bhai style. Mini (Tannaz Irani) who is actually a cat and thinks and wants to be a dog. Interval (Suresh Menon) who has all the Yash Raj Films and other films lines enacted in their dialogues. Hero English who has the best lines where he is actually translates the Hindi lines into English like Bal bal Bache (hair hair saved). Hilarious!! Sanjai Mishra as Chhainu's character who is the right hand man and the most beaten character in the movie. Of course, there was Saif Ali khan playing Romeo and Kareena playing Laila. I was so excited to hear and see Javed Jaffrey doing his antics and mimicking Shatrugan Sinha or just being Charlie Anna or introducing the Angels that as Charlie's Angels that was so cool, Romeo was overshadowed. Laila as Kareena Kapoor didn't have much to speak just look pretty even in the animation, not much to talk about her, other than her fluttering her eyes and specially looking at Romeo with dreamy eyes. Animation and the story of the movie actually reminded of The Lady and Tramp and All dogs go to heaven. Both the movies again are Walt Disney. Surely, will try and watch these movies again. The best about this animation was that it was too the detail unlike the Hanuman and My friend Ganesha types from the Indian Animation companies, it was as good as Finding Nemo, Cars. Coming Back to Charlie Anna, where he is being introduced and there is the dog licking his paw that clearly reminds you of Godfather, plus you have DDLJ rip off scene in the movie. As an Indian you actually feel connected in the movie because, you can see Maruti 800, Yellow Black Taxis, torn old movie posters on the wall - in the movie most evident one being Dhoom and you have Yash Raj being mentioned in throughout the movie, talk about Brand placement. Tata Motors logo being flashed with the municipality van (dog catcher's) , that's ok since Tata Elxsi was part creation team to create the movie. Even sat till the last credits that were flowing where they actually make the animated characters goof up, that was pretty nice, only thought Jackie Chan movies would that. The shooting of the voice over where all the actors were being highlighted making some or the other different noises also flowed with the credits.
User Review - 8/10 by Wahida KInTheBasket OH ROMEO TOTALLY COOL! Jugal Hansraj to Chuupa rustam nikla. The very first 2 D Bollywood Piece of Candy supported by Disney. I never ever thought Jugal Hansraj was so talented. I have feeling this guy never ages. He still looks like 27 something. lol One of the Disney guy said, they were really impressed by the Idea. What I most liked about this Movie were many quotes which Jugal picked from great Bollywood Classics. One of them was from. "Amar Akbar Anthony." Aisa to Admi Doeech life time baagta he: Olympic ka race ho, ya Police ka Case. Not to Mention the great voice of Saif Ali Khan as (Romeo) and Javed Jaffrey(Charlie Anna) This Movie is NOT only for Kids, Adults will laugh their socks off as well. It was even so fun to watch the making of. THIS MOVIE IS JUST SO FUN TO WATCH! Last funny line after credits No animals were harmed during making of this Movie, cannt say about the Crew though!
User Review - 8/10 by Shrina Penjoyed the animation and although the story was the typical bollywood story, that's what it was meant to be! it wasn't supposed to be some ground-breaking novel idea - it was an experiment in graphics, not scripting. all in all, good TP!
