Movie Reviews

User Review - 8/10 by Simon PStrong sequel continuing Carlton Leach's story after the Rettendon Range Rover killings.
User Review - 6/10 by Jamie CA rather disappointing second film in the series. Was still good but not a patch on part 1
User Review - 4/10 by Paul DReview: I really wasn't expecting that much from this film, especially when I saw that it had something to do with the Rettendon killings but it actually turned out to be quite entertaining. The raw, intense and gritty storyline was, surprisingly, quite gripping and the Essex backdrop was put together well. The violence, sex and foul language did go a bit over the top but that was expected from this English, gangster type movie, which was based in Essex, at a time when the Rettendon murders were still in people's minds. All of the actors put in a decent performance, and they made the movie seem extremely real but the person that I was most impressed with was Ricci Harnett (Carlton Leach), who was pretty brutal and unlikable at the beginning but he found some redemption towards the end. When Carlton finally decides to "Knock It On The Head", to live the quiet life with his family, he is pushed to limit and his past catches up with him, so I would like to see a 3rd instalment, to finally see if he has turned his bad ways, to the good. The only downfall about this film is that there are a lot of movies in this genre which, are the same in many ways but I still stayed interested throughout, and I found it quite enjoyable.  Round-Up: This movie was also directed by Ricci Harnett, who played the leading role, so he really did give this project his all. The London born actor/writer/director has also starred in movies like 28 Days Later, Vendetta starring Danny Dyer, Top Dog, the impressive Ill Manors, the Rise & Fall of a White Collar Hooligan, and some TV series like the Bill, Buried and Dubplate Drama. He also starred in the first instalment of this movie, so he wasn't new to the project. Anyway, for his directorial debut, I personally think that he done a good job with this movie and his acting was top form but it would be good to see him tackle another genre, because this one has been done to death. I recommend this movie to people who are into their crime movies starring Ricci Harnett, Steven Berkoff, Luke Mably, Craig Fairbrass, Terry Stone and Tygo Gernandt. 4/10
User Review - 4/10 by Gman HVery disappointing, nowhere near as good as the first movie. [4/10]
User Review - 2/10 by Jack LUnfortunately after loving the first film so much I was left feeling very disappointed with this sequel. The second film is a direct follow on from where the first left off and an attempt to tell the continuing story of the life of real life British hard man Carlton Leach. Unfortunately I was just left feeling that this film just didn't need making at all. In complete contrast to the first film, the second has no real plot to it and also unlike the first, the supporting characters have no real depth to them. Although it may be an accurate telling of the events which happened to him since the end of the last film, there is no real plot to the story, which I felt just leaves the whole film feeling a bit lost. However what I found the most disappointing is that, again in complete contrast to the first film, there is no real action in it. To sum the contrast between the two films best I'll actually borrow what I read from another reviewer of the film when he explained, the first film was one that once you had watched it one you could watch again and again, the second is one that once you've watched it you really wish you hadn't.
User Review - 2/10 by scott jThe first film was reasonable at best to be honestIf, this was fucking awful, it's the same old shit really, surprised Tamer Hassan and Danny Dyer didn't pop up, or Nick Nevern, and the same 5 people that star in all of these films, just mindless shite really. The whole Essex Boys thing has been done to death now (no pun intended) no more please. If you want to see a goo take on the whole essex Boys thing, watch Essex Boys starring Sean Bean, that was decent, Tom Wilkinson is also in it so that shows a decent story and £££ was thrown at it.
User Review - 2/10 by Ian CNo Fairbrass, no Stone, no party. This is not only a complete and utter pile of pig spunk, it is also one of the most boring crime films I have ever seen. The lead character is such an unlikeable cunt, the story is really fucking bad and the ending is so lame and unrealistic. Inbetween we are treated to some really wank editing, a shit script and bunch of terrible actors. I love some T&A as much as the next fella, but the sexism and degrading of women in this is sickening. At least with Fairbrass and Stone, the first film had some comedy gold.
