In 1991, young French singer-songwriter Philippe Séranne landed in tiny Riga, Latvia, on the heels of its unilateral declaration of independence from the Soviet Union. Over the next few days, he experienced a city on edge, through his eyes and those of Sandra, a local girl. He later put into song the feelings of excitement, apprehension, and unease of those unnerving days when a military reaction was all too possible. This experimental/animated mixed-media short film part documentary, part music video, part archival project on memory and identity, bringing together the tumultuous days of 1991, and a journey through the songwriter's memory, visiting in 2014 - weeks after Russian tanks and military had invaded Crimea, yet again. Produced between 2014 and 2018 in Manteyer, Lyon, Riga, Marseille, Veynes, and Toronto, and donated to the permanent collection of the Museum of Occupation of Latvia, in Riga, on occasion of Latvia's 100th Anniversary (18-Nov-2018).
