VarietyDave PollockPic is loaded with the kind of visual hijinks juve audiences love, and appeal should hold for adults, as well. Playoff looks bright in most situations.
Combustible CelluloidJeffrey M. AndersonProbably the closest Disney ever came to making a grindhouse film, starring Christopher Lee and Bette Davis as villains
Decent Films GuideSteven D. GreydanusBetter structured and faster-moving than its predecessor … disappointingly, Tony spends almost the whole film separated from Tia in a trance-like state, so the siblings' relationship is lost.
Washington PostGary ArnoldThe kids will love all the visual gags in this pleasing if lightweight Disney film.
The New York TimesJanet MaslinThe two young principals are serviceable, but not nearly as lively as some of their co-stars — Christian Juttner, as the tallest Earthquake, steals virtually every scene he doesn't share with Miss Davis or Mr. Lee.
7M PicturesKevin CarrWhile the first film had an exciting feel to it, Return to Witch Mountain was a bit of a let-down. It had more of a made-for-TV feel to it
IGNEric GoldmanThis extremely generic plotline feels very underwritten, almost as if it was one of many episodes of a Witch Mountain TV series rather than a three-years in the making sequel to a successful children's sci-fi adventure film.
User ReviewSteven1981Return from Witch Mountain is the sequel to Escape to Witch Mountain which was great but this was exceptionally better than the original.... Return from Witch Mountain was made in 1978 and is a fantasy film more than anything and stars Kim Richards, Ike Eisenmann, Bette Davis and Christopher Lee... It's a beautiful family Disney movie and Kim Richards as Tia is so beautiful and perfect but the film begins with a spaceship landing in a empty football/rugby stadium or something like that and Tony (Ike Eisenmann), Tia (Kim Richards) and their uncle appear out of the spaceship. The kids get a taxi and the uncle sods off back to his spaceship and moments later the taxi breaks down because he's out of gas so the taxi driver leaves but would return however leaving Tony and Tia alone in the car. Suddenly Tony who has amazing powers like Tia see's an event that hasn't yet happened but will do and he thinks some guy is in danger of falling off a building and dying so runs off to help and Tia says be careful. Tony sees a dude falling off a building who is under mind control or some rubbish like that due to a device the villain played by Christopher Lee is using. Tony uses some strange power to stop the dude from falling off the building and saves his life and Christopher Lee and some old buddy woman (Bette Davis) are shocked. Christopher Lee uses some injection or something to knock Tony out then kidnaps him leaving Tia stranded to look for her brother, Tony. Tia enlists the help of a bunch of kids in a local gang to help her find her brother and they agree. Christopher Lee uses Tony's supernatural powers for his own greed and Tia and Tony are reunited at the end and the device and the implant controlling Tony are destroyed. Beautifully made fantasy, family film which is very entertaining.
