Video-Reviewmaster.comSteve CrumHarlow is near her stride in this early talkie potboiler.
User ReviewMackenzie SJean Harlow's greatest performance in my opinion.
User ReviewDabney Ji love how she has absolutely no sense that what she is doing is totally and utterly disgusting and wrong. but she hikes up her skirt and goes for it! love it!
User ReviewAj VI really loved Harlow's performance in this movie, her character is crazy, using her feminine wiles to get every man's attention, and the lengths she goes to get these guys...wow. The story is good, but close to the end it slows down a bit and gets a bit confusing, and I'm not sure if I liked how it ended. Overall, I liked it though, it was a really interesting movie.
User ReviewBrad GI was expecting a cautionary tale about morality. Instead, I got a funny, cynical, fun Jean Harlow performance. I really can't believe they made that movie in 1932!!!
User ReviewBenjamin Radultry never seen like this before the code.jean harlow is perfect as the trampy and manipulative lil.
User ReviewZoran SJean Harlow playing the role of a social climbing gold digger was quite believable. She played the character with class but with definite sex appeal.
User ReviewBen CWatched this in film class as well. Pushed some very touch boundaries in film - very well done.
User ReviewSaffron SMy favourite Jean Harlow movie because she didn't play the moll or the ditz or the spoiled so-n-so. Hard to get your hands on, but if you can watch it. Its Pre-Hayes code cinema at its best.
User ReviewNandi CAn incredible slice of Hollywood history. A flick so scandalous, it is looked upon as one of the chief reasons for the enforcement of the Hays Code two years hence. Harlow plays a woman determined to sleep her way to the top of the social class - whether the men are married or not. Insatiability proves her undoing, however, climaxing in a scene that genuinely elicited a gasp from this veteran viewer. Definitely on the hunt for more in the "Forbidden Hollywood" series! Thank you, Value Village! God bless VHS!!
