Retired C.I.A. Agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is in love with Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker) and enjoying their normal life. Out of the blue, Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich) meets Frank in the supermarket and tells that Wikileaks has released the information that they had participated and know the whereabouts of the Nightshade, a portable nuclear weapon that was smuggled in pieces and hidden in Russia. Now the top agents in the world are under contract to seek them out to discover where Nightshade is. The trio travels to Paris and teams-up with the Russian Katja (Catherine Zeta-Jones) to track down the former Russian Agent "The Frog" (David Thewlis) to get more information about the operation. They learn that the brilliant inventor Dr. Edward Bailey (Sir Anthony Hopkins) might know where the weapon is. They discover that Bailey has been interned in an asylum in London by the MI6 for thirty-two years and the British Victoria (Dame Helen Mirren) joins the team. They rescue Bailey and find that the nuclear device is hidden in the Kremlin. Soon, the dangerous South Korean Han Cho Bai (Lee Byung-hun) joins the group expecting to retrieve the weapon. But dangerous killer Jack Horton (Neal McDonough) is hunting Frank down and will not stop until he recovers the nuclear bomb.

Movie Reviews

Tri-City Herald - 10/10 by Gary WolcottThe original Red was the most fun I had in a theater in 2010. Red 2 is likely to be the most fun I'll have in a theater in 2013.
Spectrum (St. George, Utah) - 9/10 by Bruce BennettWho knows if teenagers will appreciate this type of actioner? No matter. They get plenty of films designed for them. You go, gramps!
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette - 9/10 by Philip MartinAbout the best - and maybe the worst - that can be about RED 2 is that it is an exceedingly safe pick.
Tolucan Times - 9/10 by Tony MedleyFor a film with an A-list cast who would have dreamed that it would be stolen by Mary Louise Parker?...what it lacks in credibility it more than makes up for in entertainment value.
Metro Times (Detroit, MI) - 9/10 by Jeff MeyersBruce Willis expends so little energy shaping his umpteenth action persona that he can't even be bothered to crack a smile. Luckily, Helen Mirren, Mary Louis Parker, Brian Cox and John Malkovich are all-too happy to step in and steal the limelight.
AV Club - 9/10 by Ignatiy VishnevetskyLike its predecessor, it’s a one-joke movie; the difference is that this time around, the joke is better.
Chicago Sun-Times - 9/10 by Bill ZweckerRed 2 not only delivers the action, laughs and thrills of the original — in many ways it surpasses it.
TV Guide - 8/10 by Perry SeibertThere's a charming chemistry between the various cast members.
Ozus' World Movie Reviews - 8/10 by Dennis SchwartzAbsurd sequel to the absurd and inconsequential Red.
Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA) - 8/10 by John WirtMore fun than a sequel has a right to be.
