Alvin is a cantankerous old man in a hospice facility, trying to stay amused while he faces his inevitable end. He has memories of a wife he never knew how to love. As he gets to know his roommate Kevin, a young man with terminal cancer, he begins to reconsider what he has left in life. This film has a mature cast who does not disappoint. Directed by LeVar Burton (yea the reading rainbow guy) Reach for Me is the story of a man at the end of his life who finds love. I thought it inspiring to see a story with wonderful rich and real characters brought to life on film. This film is great for any age. It will resonate with anybody who still believes in love. I'd totally recommend it to anybody who likes grounded, character driving films that are done well. |
