They make silly comedy that doesn't take itself too seriously. A bit of mindless escapism that reminds you of a simpler time. | User Reviewalanpotter17É realmente engraçado ver o filme tirar sarro de personagens da elite, ao estilo Monty Python, inclusive como cinema é até melhor. Quasimodo é o tal corcunda de Notre Dame criado pela mente genial de Vítor Hugo, e o filme inicia bem didático, com uma aula sobre feudalismo e as classes sociais envolvidas. Conseguindo emprego como torturador, Quasimodo vai se destacando pela perspicácia em aprimorar o método de tortura a sua máquina, e isso chama a atenção da rainha. Mas as coisas vão começar a mudar quando o Papa resolve visitar esse lugarejo da França, ponto em tensão o comando sobre o povo, de um lado o papado e de outro lado o monarca impiedoso. O filme usa e abusa de caricaturas, e também utiliza-se da repetição em alguns momentos (ostras, ostras, ostras).... Mas consegue pelo menos desenvolver bem o arco entre Quasi e o amigo, bem como com a rainha, que apoiará a ambos. Quasi é visto como um herói improvável, numa clara ironia aos estereótipos de super-heróis. Seu amigo acaba tendo uma certa inveja dessa fama, e embora o roteiro force um pouco o conflito entre eles, não deixou piegas demais. Gostei de como o roteiro conseguiu driblar a encurralada que o papa e orei deram em Quasi e de como a história não perde o pique, ainda que seja filmada de forma bem convencional. Outra cena deliciosa de assistir foi a rainha e Quasi pintando nas paredes, fazendo alusão debochada à selfie, entregando a que época pertence, e sendo muito bem vinda a referência. No mais, é uma comédia escrachada, que se permite até mesmo cenas como tortura do saco escrotal (!) para fazer rir. Claro que tudo está entre a ironia e o mau gosto, e às vezes essa linha é muito tênue, por exemplo, a afeição que a rainha sente por Quasi beira o fetichismo, e isso pode não soar bem à proposta. Ainda assim, é um filme bem divertido de assistir, dei várias risadas, contém críticas às classes sociais dominantes, e mesmo soando um pouco demagógico, as piadas em geral funcionam, e isso é o que basta para um filme de comédia sem grandes pretensões. |
