Full Plot Details

In 1974, amoral CIA agent Butler and his inexperienced young colleague locate a Hungarian castle where, according to classified CIA data, a werewolf lives. Their mission is to take a sample of its blood and bring it back to the States for research. The idea is to eventually create an army of soldiers with werewolf-like abilities and resistance to harm. This secret project is dubbed Project: Metalbeast. However, the research is slow and they eventually nearly run out of werewolf blood, so Butler, unhinged, injects himself with the little blood that's left and turns into a werewolf. He goes on a killing spree inside of the CIA research facility but is shot with silver bullets by his boss, Miller. Miller covers everything up and arranges for Butler and his victims' bodies to be cryogenically frozen. 20 years later, a team of medical scientists led by doctor Anna de Carlo, who's obsessed with finding a way to create artificial skin that could help those in need of skin transplant, is ordered by Miller to experiment with their prototype of synthetic skin on Butler's corpse. Miller is increasingly showing signs of insanity and doesn't tell them what Butler is. When they find the bullets inside of the Butler's body and remove them, all hell breaks loose in the facility. To make matters worse, the artificial skin they transplanted makes Bulter's werewolf skin impenetrable.

User Review - 10/10 by Nathan MI can't think of anything more awesome than a werewolf covered with armor.
User Review - 10/10 by Grant BIt's a cyborg werewolf... what's not to love?
User Review - 6/10 by Drago? CA festival of 90s cheap horror schlock, Project Metalbeast is at least competently directed even if the acting and effects work is hilarious at times. Kane Hodder plays the metalbeast (the monster itself) and Barry Bostwick of Spin City fame plays a shady colonel who has nefarious plans with his ex partner/werewolf. Overall enjoyable in a 90s schlock kind of way.
User Review - 6/10 by Thomas LOne of those rare gems that gathers a small following in the underground video world. Let's face it.. werewolves aren't that popular these days, and they never have been, not when compared to the likes of other movie monsters such as Vampires, and Ghosts. Project: Metalbeast has never been released on DVD, maybe it never will be, I just happened to stumble upon it a little over 15 years ago in the new release section of a Massachusetts blockbuster. I fell in love immediately.. I mean.. a werewolf with metal fucking skin!!!?? Umm.. count me in. This is the very definition of a guilty pleasure.
User Review - 4/10 by Bill BI feel as if I wanted to like this one more than it would actually let me, as I can barely remember anything about it and it's as if I blotted it from my mind the moment credits rolled, I only have vague memories of sketchy special effects. A rental at best, and I might try to give it a go again in the future, just to see if anything changes for me.

User Review - 4/10 by Brett BI give the filmmakers credit for going as far over-the-top with the concept as they do, but by no objective measure is this a good film. If, however, you're in the right mindset (and have had, perhaps, a drink or two), you might get something out of it.
User Review - 4/10 by Owen DLess Project more metalbeast! it was boring, alot of talking. Needed more metal werewolf killing people.
User Review - 2/10 by Tim GUgh. Somehow a movie with an evil Barry Bostwick, a metal werewolf, and Kane Hodder sucked. Honestly...A METAL FUCKING WEREWOLF - and it was boring. Plus he didn't even fight any other super hybrid creatures, which would have been rad. He killed Barry Bostwick..who couldn't kill Barry Bostwick? I want to see him fight something awesome, like Mesh Godzilla, or Cargo Net Dracula.
