Time OutDerek AdamsFamous for the scene in which the acrobatic Chan, cornered by pirates, is left hanging by a clock's minute hand, this is a rumbustiously entertaining caper set in Hong Kong at the turn of the century.
Apollo GuideRyan CracknellThere is not much difference between this film and most of Chan's other early films. There are the typical amazing stunts, comical situations and super thin plot.
Eye for FilmKeith H. BrownThe chance to see Jackie and his team at the peak of their powers and the absence of a Chris Tucker or Owen Wilson.
User ReviewSean PGreat action, Great stunts, Great comedy, Great movie
User ReviewRobert ABrilliant. The high point in Jackie Chans career. This was recently made even more brilliant with the discovery that Danny Trejo did the dubbed voice of Sam Pao. The final fight in the film with Jackie, Sammo and Yuen all interchanging on the high kicking Pirate is exceptional. Brilliant fight scenes, excellent stunt work, a huge budget (for the time), an all star cast and the best action comedy Jackie Chan ever did. Its just a pity I don't own a copy any more!
User ReviewTom AJC at his finest, incredible fight sequences, typical cheesy humour, and one hard motherfucker of a bad guy!!
User ReviewSaul BJackie's first step away from samuria and into his role as The Godfather of Freerunning. The very first of many sacrifices he made for his art.
User ReviewMilo MLoved it. If you like jackie chans later movies this is where he first tried out all his moves.
User ReviewGiggsy QAmazing Jackie Chan Movie .... Forget all that Hollywood "Rush Hour Crap" ...this one will drop your Jaws for a good hour or two
User ReviewPo NJackie Chan, Sammo and Yuen Biao at their best!!
