The coming-of-age story of Marjorie Ely, a beautiful 19-year-old girl possessed by only an abstracted sense of who she is or where she came from. Now alone and living with distant relatives, she imagines that she was born motherless, created through extraordinary, magical means by her mysterious and long-dead father as the daughter that he never had. As time goes on, she becomes further lost to the ordinary world around her, a banal one of gossipy girlfriends, lonely afternoons, routine jobs and awkward sexual awakenings. But a separate, nocturnal reality emerges and soon takes hold, sending forth a young, handsome and unearthly figure in a black leather jacket to reclaim her - drawing her back to her perceived origins, to where her father and fate await her.

Movie Reviews

User Review - 8/10 by paul mA great looking and sounding second film from Windsor Ontario's (Canada) Otto Buj. A true "Art" film. It will appeal to those who appreciate and understand that genre, especially the classic films of that type. Also has hints of old style independent films. Is it a meditation on the mystery of life and immortality ? Or something else. If you like Guy Maddin and the like it is for you. If not check it out anyways you might be in for a treat. Or you might not like it at all. But it might just stick with you long after the end credits roll. The lovely lead played by Stephanie Sobocan, glides her way through the picture and its colorful and hazy cinematography. In a way it reminds me of a miniature version of Terrance Malick's "Tree of Life". But much better and shorter. Yes it might not make much sense but it is a great effort at something that is truly original. Finally it is an independent film that isn't a slapdash shot on video mess.
