When roses are pressed instead of a pair of trousers, chaos and confusion should be the result, and is the result, until in the end the mystery is unraveled and doubt, vanquished, vanishes. A young man pawns his time-piece in order to obtain money with which to procure flowers and ticket for the theater for his girl. He sends for a messenger to deliver the flowers with a note, at the same time sending his trousers to be pressed. The messenger boy confuses both boxes, and as a result, chaos ensues. The young man, after patiently waiting for the return of his unreturning trousers, decides to go in search of them. Arriving at the tailor shop, he finds the tailor pressing the roses, and when the shock is over and he feels better, he realizes the mistake. Immediately he rushes to his lady friend's home, and finds her with his trousers in her hands, reading the note intended to accompany the roses. "Wear These To-night." Long and hard he attempts to straighten out the unfortunate coll of blunder and mishap, but the girl is obdurate and will not listen to his explanation or heed his entreaties. At last, despairing of the task, he is leaving the house when the girl's sister calls him back, and he enters the house and discovers the girl pressing the misdirected mischief-causing trousers. Then, of course, they kiss and make up.
