Leave your thoughts about Power.
Washington PostPaul AttanasioBefore it turns slack and sentimental, "Power," Sidney Lumet's foray into the world of political consultants, crackles with a kind of moral static.
Chicago ReaderDave KehrThere is little of the gratuitous hysteria that usually mars Lumet's work, and David Himmelstein's busy script keeps things moving, though at the price of losing track of a couple of significant subplots.
User ReviewCassie HI really enjoyed this movie. Excellent actors and a great storyline. That's what I look for in a movie :)
User ReviewTom KThis is one of the moview I own & take out to watch every so often. Richard Gere CAN act. Just watch.
User ReviewShawn WLumet is trying hard to do to the world of political campaign organizers what his "Network" did to television news. It exudes the same authenticity and research but lacks the coalescence provided by a stellar plot.
User ReviewRobert BA very underrated and realistic political drama that features a superb cast. One of the more under appreciated political films out there. The film could have been great had there been more character development for the main players.
User ReviewMahmoud OIntersting story about politics and media in the american political system
User ReviewSheldon RGood look at the corrupt political scene and the media. Star cast and intriguing plot if you like to just watch a lot of people talk. The helicopter / horse scene is the best scene in the film.
User ReviewPaul DAs a movie for the general public, this is probalby more like a 2-star. I have to give it 3 because I appreciate the sheer amount of conviction that the script appears to have on it's subject. Very researched, very realistic, and though boring in parts to most, for media/P.R. people this must ring fairly true. The moral of the story seems to come very late and is overshadowed by the rest of the story. It seems to be dedicated to it's subject and there's some good actors/acting in this one.
User ReviewReuben PThe main problem is that the first half is unfocused.
