User Review - 10/10 by Jason HPost Concussion is probably my favorite movie. Daniel Yoon plays Matthew Kang, a ruthless management consultant for Thomson and Co. whose philosophy of life is as cutthroat as his job. Matthew lives by the Thomson philosophy that "we were masters of our own destiny and that success and failure in business as well as in life were simply a matter of choice. . . It was our own free will and not chance or fate that determined where we ended up in life as well as who we ended up with." But his philosophy is deeply challenged and eventually abandoned after he is hit by a car and suffers a major concussion that causes him to lose his edge in his position as consultant, costing him his job and his trophy girlfriend. Daniel Yoon also directed, wrote, produced, edited and worked as cinematographer for this film. The interesting background of this movie was that it was based on Daniel Yoon's own experience, so it is partly autobiographical. According to Daniel, "In 1995 I was struck by a car while crossing the street in Berkeley, California, USA. I sustained a fairly serious head injury, and as a result lost my girlfriend as well as my position as a management consultant to U.S. Fortune 1000 corporations. During the long recovery I taught myself from books the technical aspects of filmmaking, and also wrote several short and feature length screenplays, including 'Post Concussion.'" It is definitely worth watching. Excellent movie.
User Review - 6/10 by Lee MThis is good-natured and likeable as a serious form of fooling around, but I can't say I found it very entertaining or interesting. The unvarnished acting charms initially through its brazen lack of pretense, then gets a bit dull.
