Ilmari Unho's social comedy Poikani pääkonsuli (1940) is based on a play by Elsa Soini. A sharp student Inkeri, "Iiri", Paappanen, and businessman Taavi Takkulainen fall in love during a boat trip, but a misunderstanding at a hotel in Stockholm causes a rift. After returning to Finland, Inkeri applies for a job as a governess and accidentally ends up working for Taavi's parents' family.
