Washington TimesChristian TotoWhile the film can't measure up to its psychologically bent scenario, it's still an intriguing choice at the local DVD store or on-demand service.
User ReviewAlison MBeautiful movie, found by accident and was bowled over by it!! Cillian was amazing in it!
User ReviewLeon BY esta es la segunda, por la que Cillian Murphy es uno de mis favoritos. Una de las películas más transgresoras que he visto.
User ReviewEytan DRiveting from beginning to end. Very hitchcockian.
User ReviewZach LA very moving film about how a troubled youth can emotionally scar in adulthood. Cillian Murphy's acting in this is award winning.
User ReviewRobert CYou may ask: HOW YOU GOT TO SEE THE FILM? And I will say: PEACOCK LET ME :) Plot: John has been known in town as a bank worker, but one day a train destroys his backyard leaving Emma known by the town of PEACOCK. Will he manage to control his emotions even his alter ego? Acting: Cillian Murphy was so awesome, I do think as the director, he deserves an OSCAR (if he din't won it with 'Kitten's performance at BREAKFAST OF PLUTO, now he needs to). Susan Sarandon was incredible, incredible! I enjoy all of her performances on screen, and obviously, Ellen Page was great too! Very well done. Love the whole cast and the rest of it too. Very interesting challenge for Cillian, and very interesting acting of everyone on this film. Inspiring I may say. Music: Terrific, incredible, scary, spooky, very well done for this film. Effects: the train and the editing was all scary and well made, mixing it up with those incredible sounds and music. I just love it! To end this short review, I give this film 5 stars! I love the story behind Jonh/Emma, and the rest of the cast/characters. A truly recomended film. If you don't watch it, it's not cause it's not your type of film, is cause you are not a true 7th art fan. ENJOY!
User ReviewKatie TAs an avid Cillian Murphy fan, I wasn't let down by this film. The part of John/Emma would be a challenge to any well-trained actor and Murphy plays it flawlessly showing the rage of John as his life is slowly destroyed by memories of his abusive mother and Emma's quickly evolving need to control. In the modern world of barely par remakes and pointless story lines which leave the audience unsatisfied, this is a truly original film that won't disappoint the viewer.
User ReviewPhilip PPeacock is a very clever film, well written and sharply directed. The acting is superb. Cillian Murphy was unfairly deprived of an Oscar nod for his dual gender performances. He was simply brilliant. The supporting cast is also top notch. The film is set in mid-20th century rural Nebraska. The set design, costumes and art direction are all spot on. Why this film wasn't advertised better by Lionsgate will forever remain a mystery to me.
User ReviewSJ EGorgeously shot. Stunning acting - with that rare attention to detail from the entire cast that makes suspension of disbelief a pleasure. It is almost criminal that this did not have a wider release.
User ReviewClaudine JWTW?! This fine li'l film rates a 'N/A' on RT? Well, Eff that. One of the *least* cliched treatments of psychosis/melodrama you'll ever find out there. EXCELLENT production values, cast, script...kudos to all.
