User Review - 8/10 by Ken WEvery female in this film gets a fully nude scene. Some get more than that. She just lies back and accepts it. Ridiculous but funny film. I bought it
User Review - 8/10 by Camden NAnother resounding success from the underrated auteur of sleaze Mario Landi. Stylistically this shows some major improvement over Giallo a Venezia. The film has some splashes of expressionistic lighting, and Mario Landi's camera is more confident. Whereas Giallo a Venezia looked like a TV movie, this definitely looks like (an admittedly cheap and sometimes inept) theatrical film. I must admit that, having seen that giallo in an outrageously low quality bootleg, it is not completely fair to compare the two visually. I can at least say that Patrick Vive Ancora has more interesting camerawork. It also has more of a story, if not a particularly well written one. But did we come here for good writing? No, this is an Italian sleaze-fest, filled with delightfully hateful (and stupid) characters, a generally mean-spirited atmosphere, a lot of unnecessary nudity (both male and female), and some ridiculous death scenes. Unlike Giallo a Venezia, the deaths in this film are often ludicrous, badly staged, or too fantastic to be disturbed by. There is one however that is surprisingly cringe inducing, and you'll know it when it happens. Between this and Giallo a Venezia I can't help but assume that Landi really hates vaginas. The film is often sleazy and ridiculous enough to maintain interest, but it loses its steam in the last 15 minutes or so. That this around the time that the Freddie Mercury-lookalike character dies may or may not be a coincidence (but I did love every minute he was on screen, that's for certain). The problem is that the filmmakers blew all their good deaths too early and left all the lame deaths for the lame climax. Oh well. Altogether this film is nowhere near as sleazy as Giallo a Venezia, but it is more entertaining and easier on the eyes thanks to the superior print. It also benefits from a score by that giallo's composer Berto Pisano, who contributes a much different sort of score for this much different sort of film. The main theme, for instance, sounds like an intense rip off of Tubular Bells. So all in all this is not nearly as mind-blowingly trashy as Giallo a Venezia, but it is ridiculous enough to ensure that you're never bored.
User Review - 8/10 by David LA knockoff/unofficial sequel to the film Patrick, Mario Landi's PATRICK STILL LIVES is a weird little film that is weak on pretty much every level - but still manages to be entertaining and pretty fun to watch... Patrick is the victim of an unfortunate (and kinda hilarious...)accident: while standing by the side of the road, he's randomly hit in the face with a bottle that a passing motorist chucks out of his window, leaving poor Patrick in a coma, but with telekinetic powers (!!??!!) Patrick's scientist father owns a villa with a lab in the basement where he conducts experiments to strengthen Patrick's mind powers so that he can one day seek revenge for his condition. Dad lures several people to his villa with the intention of letting vegetable-boy wreak some havoc. This eventually does happen and the results are pretty rewarding... Patrick still lives is a pretty good example of classic 70's/80's exploitation sleaze. Plenty of tits and ass (including a pretty hot masturbation scene from a sexy blonde), and some decent gore, including: a man hung by his throat from a hook, a woman eaten by dogs, another woman decapitated but a car window, and the "famous" graphic vaginal-impalement-via-fire-poker. This one in particular is a keeper, as I was surprised that they showed this scene as "up-close and personal" as they did. PATRICK has some of the most ridiculous dialog ("It's obvious that Mr. Cough's cause of death was from a fatality..." (?????)), a retarded and threadbare plot, pretty stupid FX (the "floating-hypnotic-eyeballs" come to mind...), and atrocious acting. Regardless, or possibly because of these things, I still got a kick out of this one. I have a soft spot for these types of 70's/80's shock/schlock films - and this one is another perfect example. If you're looking for high-art, you can leave this one on the shelf. If you like tit's, ass,and gore - I'd recommend this one pretty highly.
User Review - 8/10 by Gordon Tvery sexy porn-sequel to PATRICK with a funny EXORCIST-main title theme. its not a hundred percent because it sucks really; yet its an important entry in the Euro-Trash / Euro-Shock / Euro-Schlock era between 1979 - 1985. Dario Argento said that Italy experienced economic collapse in 1985 and the Italian Film Industry was never the same resulting in the end of the Italian Horror/Crime/Post-Nuke era.
User Review - 6/10 by Jeff WPatrick telepathically makes a fireplace poker enter Mariangela Giordano's vagina and come out her mouth in full detail. Yeah, it's as good as it sounds. 3 stars may be a bit generous, but I had fun with this film.
User Review - 6/10 by Paul MThis is definitely more of a 'sickie' than a straight horror film. It's nowhere near as good as the chilling original, but it has some fun moments and a hot psychic sex scene. Word.
User Review - 6/10 by Brian CAlthough the narratives lacks some logic, it is still great. The gore scenes are priceless, the story has some good moments, and the acting is delightlfully bad. I will never look the same at a fireplace poker again...
User Review - 6/10 by MacDara CItalian horror doesn't get much more campy, melodramatic or sleazier than this. A guilty pleasure for sure, but it's far from a masterpiece.
User Review - 6/10 by Kevin BAs an ersatz sequel/remake of Patrick (1978), this is really just an excuse to display absurd amounts of female full-frontal (and dorsal) nudity, along with a fair amount of (mostly unconvincing) gore. You got a problem with that? For Euro-trash completists only!
