Full Plot Details

The dentist Oscar has been married for five years and lives with his wife and adopted children. On the surface everything seems to be fine but Oscar is not a happy man. His wants a baby of his own flesh and blood but it's not working out. When he finds out that his wife has been deceiving him all these years he decides it's time for a change. Einar is a stockbroker who is very successful at work but not in his personal life. For the last couple of months Einar has been living at a hotel waiting for his wife to realize the terrible mistake she made by throwing him out. Katrin Rose returns from Sweden where she has lived for eight years. In Iceland Katrin has an eleven-year-old son, brought up by his grandmother and now Katrin wants him back. Katrin gets a job as a dentist's assistant intending to make a fresh start but her troubled past catches up with her. PARENTS is the independent second part of twin features by Ragnar Bragason and Vesturport exploring the roles of children and parents. The first part, CHILDREN was released in 2006.

It's darkly comic at times and yet in it's satire of the pretentiousness of the 'wholesome' all american family, it is a very Haunting tale, Just put yourself in young Michael's shoes. A fantastic film and Randy Quaid gives a career Best performance. "Eat your meat Michael".

Part satire/comedy, part horror, Parents tells the disturbing story of an impressionable young boy who begins to suspect that his parents are murderous cannibals. It's hard to pinpoint just what it is that got under my skin about this film. The eerie, subtle music score, the acting, and the sterile set design all play a part in crafting an unsettling mood. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the film is the open ended nature of the narrative. Is young Michael just mentally disturbed or is there something more sinister at work? Parents is certainly an original and spooky addition to any horror fans library. Check it out!

User Review - 10/10 by Wraith AHow have I not heard of this movie sooner?! This is the blackest comedy I've ever seen! This movie is insane! The story is about a very young boy, who is also very weird and odd, who suspects his parents might not be who they seem to be. He starts catching them doing some obscene stuff and starts to question where they get all their food from. Yes, you probably already guessed. This movie is about a boy who thinks his parents are cannibals! Even if it's only 77 minutes long, this movie will disturb you, make you laugh because of how awkward it is, and maybe even scar you. The acting is brilliant! The parents are scary, creepy and disturbing. Whenever Randy Quaid is on screen, it's terrifying. The mother is much less scary, it's the father who you should be afraid of the most. The little kid's acting might seem bad to some, but I thought it was actually pretty spot on. His reactions to things happening around him seem very real. At times it's like he isn't even acting! He's literally scared! The soundtrack helps the movie a lot. It makes every scene seem like it's the most disturbing one ever. The ending is shocking and brutal. All in all, this goes high on my list of favourite movies and I'll deffinetely watch it again. Great acting, awesome soundtrack, ridiculous, yet frightening story. I would recommend seeing this movie at least once.
