Shurik (like other students) is very busy trying to find material to study. Suddenly he notices necessary material in someone's hands. Shurik follows this person all over the city reading over the shoulder, not even noticing who this person is and where they are going. Next day, after having met a beautiful girl, Shurik constantly has an impression that he's already seen her, visited her apartment etc... 3. "Operatsiya Y" ("Operation Y"). A depository director, trying to cover up embezzlement on his depository, hires 3 crooks to simulate robbery. The plan is to get there at night, overpower an old lady guard and break a few things to make an impression of a big crime. The problem is that the very night the operation "Y" was planned for, the old lady-guard asked the tenant of her apartment (that of course happened to be Shurik) to guard the depository for her.

User ReviewTrinity CREALLY FUNNY! one of the best soviet comedies ever
User ReviewMarina SI love every one of Shurik's adventures... especially if the three bad guys are there.
User ReviewJoseph SSure it had to deal with Soviet propaganda, all Russian films from then did ... but it's really funny! Worth watching if you can find it.
User ReviewGreywynn SThis was one of my favorite Russian movies when I was little. This and "Brenyantavaya Ruka". But I can seem to find that movie on here. They don't have a lot of Russian movies on here.
User ReviewHunter HThis is some funny stuff indeed. Shurik is the man! Also check into "Ð?авказÑ?каÑ? пленниÑ?а, или Ð?овÑ?е пÑ?иклÑ?Ñ?ениÑ? ШÑ?Ñ?ика" (Prisoner of the Caucasus, or Shurik's new adventures) as it is also quite funny.

User ReviewNick DRecently watched it.., yet again... amazing movie, great play, they are really funny.... and yes, "Nado Fedia, nado..."
User ReviewAnastasiya NIt's a Shurik film-what more can I say??
User ReviewKato HVery funny, Chaplin Charlot's style. Interesting as it gives some un-political views on how people were living in CCCP in the sixties.
User ReviewLucile DMiddle sketch, "Deja Vu," is especially charming. Very interesting to see how American and Soviet comedy continued to grow along separate paths during the Cold War. This brand of comedy retains the vaudevillian aspects of 1930s Hollywood, but with sophisticated cinematography and novel communitarian tone to the characters.
