Full Plot Details

In Spain, the American surfer Jason, his best friend and photographer Tomas Escaño and his girlfriend Lisa go shopping in a fair and while the couple is negotiating with a street vendor, Jason visits a dreadful store. Jason has a friction with the handicapped owner Malek and the man in a wheelchair offers an ancient board game called Mamba from the Spanish Inquisition period for free to excuse his behavior. Meanwhile, Detective Izar is investigating the death of a man that was skinned alive. When a heavy rain falls during a party on the beach, Jason joins Tomas, Lisa, his new acquaintance Erica Vargas, Pablo, Miguel and Elena to play the game. Erica reads the rules and explains that the winner would have his wish granted while the losers would be cursed to die the way described in the cards. Pablo is the first to lose and borrows Tomas' car to buy some beers. Miguel, Lisa, Elena and Tomas also lose, but the players stop the game when Detective Eric arrives and informs that Pablo has just died. When Miguel, Lisa and Elena also die, Jason researches the Mamba in the Internet and finds that the pieces and board had been made of skin and bones of the witch Mamba Masamba and the cards had been written with her blood and tears. Jason decides to finish the game with Erica to undo the curse.

Dread Central - 5/10 by Steve "Uncle Creepy" BartonAs a game Open Graves is passable enough for one roll of the dice but definitely not a game with any replay value.
User Review - 10/10 by Gina 5BY5i know that its not out yet but i know its going to be a great movie because Eliza dushku is in it

User Review - 10/10 by Vanessa Bi loved this movie i thought it was like final destination movies it was awesome
User Review - 8/10 by Greg CAlthough parts of the movie are predictable, the horror factor makes this worth watching. If you like being "creeped out", don't miss this one.
User Review - 6/10 by James SWithout the darkened atmosphere of a cinema screen and a restricted budget these straight to dvd horrors have to work for it if they want to get the job done. Open Graves manages to succeed on the strength of a couple of good performances around an intriguing idea. The always good value for money, Eliza Dushku forms part of a bunch of stereotypical twenty-somethings who do the usual stuff that you really ought not to do in this kind of film, who after their beach party is rained off, turn to a weirdo board game for amusement. Then people start to die as they usually do, in a variety of horrible ways. The kills are in a similar vein to the Final Destination movies with a lack of monsters and knife-wielding psychos and most of them are pretty cool even if they are almost all a variation on the falling off, over or running into something theme. The film delivers some satisfyingly squeamish moments and a few really good jump scares, even if this isn't pant soiling stuff. The script's dialogue is hammy but does it's job, the plot is ridiculously predictable but still makes for an enjoyable watch, while the cast sell their parts well enough. One or two actually surprising twists would have helped this along and injected some suspense into the movie at times but as a low rent horror it manages it's constraints well to deliver enough aimless thrills for the duration.
User Review - 6/10 by Keith Ma very standard, nothing to interesting movie that i think people would only watch because miss dushku's name is on the cover. overall it was okay.
User Review - 6/10 by Vivian MI feel like this had a good plot and story behind it, but with some better CGI and acting it could have really shone.
User Review - 6/10 by Ian MI quite enjoyed it actually... It was kind of Jumanji on crack. Hahaha! I'm a huge fan of Ms Dushku anyway, and it didn't really disappoint. There were a few dodgy effects, although very detailed they were just obvious, but others were amazing. Predictable ending sadly, but nonetheless worth a watch.
User Review - 6/10 by Andrew PIt wasn't a bad film, but the ending confuses me
