Shared DarknessBrent SimonBeguiling as well as meandering, but thought-provoking and frequently gorgeous, it's an interesting nonfiction snapshot that's much cheaper than any similarly exotic itinerary a viewer could put together.
Christian Science MonitorPeter RainerThe cumulative effect is somewhat overwhelming. How could it not be?
Los Angeles TimesSheri LindenThe film is driven by a we-are-the-world connectedness, but remains a travelogue in search of a defining center. The overall impression is as fleeting as much of the imagery that flashes across the screen.
VarietyRobert KoehlerThe rush of watching images made in such rare locales as Andorra and Sao Tome quickly wears thin as the montage whips through considerably meaty topics (water issues, climate change, immigration, religious faith) like an impatient Web surfer.
The Hollywood ReporterFrank ScheckMuch like the recent, similarly themed "Life in a Day," the results are more admirable than enlightening or even entertaining.
The New York TimesDaniel M. GoldOne Day on Earth shows, there's a fine line between coherence and chaos.
Village VoiceAndrew SchenkerUltimately, a collage film is only as good as its constituent parts, and, with a few exceptions, the brief snippets from this particular day on earth are far too prosaic to be illuminating.
User ReviewRo'ber SIncredible collection of humanity under one solar roof.

User ReviewThegodfathersonOne Day On Earth touched my heart. It was sad, funny and heartwarming. This film shot on 10.10.10 is a documentary of the whole world in one day. Everyone in the whole wide world got cameras and started filming- and got creative. ODOE focuses on a lot of subjects like- Pollution, Festivals, Crime etc. and even the good things. Well, I loved this movie. Long but really good. It's a must watch.
