Mrs. Trouille barges in the manager's office to demand her daughter be returned to her but soon heartily gives her consent when her daughter tells her that she will send her an allowance thanks to that job. The famous painter Maurice Lacroix who accompanied his mistress at Driscoll's to buy dresses remarks Nicole and works up the courage to ask her out for a meal at the Claridge. The two fall in love.
