User ReviewMarc GI wasn't the biggest fan of MSP and I personally think Palumbo is a talentless hack, well.. I still think that. This movie tries to be disturbing on it's kills alone, which doesn't work because the effects are horrible. They're clearly using the the worst retractable blade I've ever seen, but they don't seem to care that knives are supposed to be shiny.
User ReviewLisa BImagine the acting, directoring, and the video quality of porn, then take out the intercourse and you have Nick Palumbo's "Nutbag." This "nutty" film doesn't have any ounce of character development or plot to help its painful viewing displeasure. Taking a softball to the noggin would be better than watching this travesty of indie cinema. Palumbo's "Murder. Set. Pieces. is ten times better, however; it wasn't all that hot as well. The one star reflects its use of nudity shot angles which most films stray from showing.
User ReviewPatrick SThe titular Nutbag is a serial killer who vents his sexual frustration and nihilistic world view by talking to his pet tarantula Heinrich, as well as murdering (mostly) women. Director Nick Palumbo's pathetic attempt at a disturbing study of a serial killer a la Henry is more often than not unintentionally funny; and the scenes that aren't laughable are simply boring, annoying, tedious, or downright nerve-racking. Simply averting your eyes won't ease your discomfort either, as Nutbag also has one of the worst scores in cinematic history, which was more than likely either stolen wholesale from a Sega CD game or composed by an 8-year-old on a Casio keyboard.
