Leave your thoughts about No Clue.
Toronto StarBruce DemaraBrent Butt's Corner Gas brand of humour has plenty of loyal fans and if you enjoy his wry and self-effacing shtick, you'll find No Clue to be an inconsequential but pleasant diversion.
Movie MetropolisJames PlathAlthough it's a relatively low-budget indie flick, I'd rate "No Clue" among my top three film noir/P.I. spoofs-right up there with "The Cheap Detective" (1978) and "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" (1982).
National PostDavid BerryIf [Butt] could make the serious bits feel bigger, as opposed to just windrow dressing to his jokes, he'd have a parody worth really taking seriously.
Globe and MailLiam LaceyButt is a decent word-spinner and self-deprecating funny man, but the decision to have the rest of the cast play it straight is a mistake; it's as if he plugged his performance into a weak Law and Order episode.
Reel Film ReviewsDavid NusairButt is, it becomes increasingly clear, simply not funny in the slightest...
User ReviewJohn FCreated by Brent Butt, it borrows heavily on his classic Corner Gas and Hiccups humor. If your expecting something different, you may be disappointed.
User ReviewCaroline CAt first I wondered if this was a pilot for a movie. I enjoyed the characters, the Butty-esque humour, and the light-hearted plot.
User ReviewJosh LAdvanced screening of indie comedy; filmed in Vancouver, and written by local comedian Brent Butt!
User ReviewKay LA funny send up of the private eye genre.
User ReviewPaul DNO CLUE review by FAT Mike In a case of mistaken identity, a salesman is hired as a private detective by a woman to find her missing brother. I like Brent Butt, he is a talented funny comedian but in this movie he falls flat. There are some chuckles but no hard laughs. And I didn't feel any connection to any of the characters. Even though this movie was a letdown, the cast is made up of some talented stars like Corner Gas' Brent Butt, Anchorman's David Koechner and Cranks own Amy Smart. Even though the cast is good they don't make this movie good. The things I did enjoy is some of the dry humor and the chemistry between Brent Butt and David Koechner. I enjoyed the conclusion at the end of the movie, was fun. All together, after the first 25 minutes I was board and waiting for the movie to pick up but it doesn't till the last screen and even then I just wanted to end. I hope this movie will grow on me in time. I was let down by No Clue, but hopefully Brent Butt's next film will be much better. You learn from your mistakes, right? Cheers and remember life won't suck as long as there is a good movie to watch. 2 out of 10 Edited by Samantha Locke
