| User ReviewDubeauReally like the documentary. It shows how the film related to Star Trek fans, but also it's history. GQ was a perfect homage movie but also a very balanced comedy/drama story. You get great bits with all the actors. I loved the parts with how the aliens cames to be. In the end, it's pretty much a goodbye for Alan Rickman, as it should be. This film had it's ups and down but it didn't become a cult movie for nothing. I give it a 80%. That was informative and entertaining. |
| User ReviewUncleWillardThe first 90% of this is great. Lots of behind the scenes stuff. Lots of industry insider stuff. I like hearing how it got made and it's great to know that the cast and crew all had fun making it. It was truly a labor of love. Where it lost me is the homage to the fans. True, this movie does highlight how important, and how insane and annoying, fans can be. And I love that there are still people who love to dress up as the characters in this movie. However, it got waaaaaayyy to sappy too quick at the end. This is not a triumph of spirit, it's just the story of a great flick that was ahead of its time and the people who love it. Ruined by the grandiose sappy music and the ending. |
