The Pop BreakMarisa CarpicoPerhaps Lowen's greatest achievement, though, is the way she conveys aspects of patriarchy and misogyny that are much more complex.
Toronto StarBruce DemaraA timely film that ought to summon everyone's outrage.
Little White LiesEd GibbsA powerful and honest look at a global epidemic.
The PlaylistChris Barsanti...keeps covering the same ground, and never quite tackles the root problems of this kind of aggression and how it's facilitated by online media.
Eye for FilmAmber WilkinsonA broadening out of the argument to examine what more can be done would have been welcome, but as a wake-up call about the impact of harassment and a celebration of what has already been achieved by this trio of fighters, Lowen's film is first-class.
User Reviewdonnie zThis film is so biased and one sided that it only deserves one star. I happen to know one of the supposed cyberstalkers featured in the movie (the 'Tina story). He is no more a stalker than Tina Reine is a victim. They had a relationship where she conned him out of tens of thousands of dollars. Throughout she hid her past of being an escort the whole of her adult life. She continued to see customers during their relationship (same as she had with her previous husband) and it caused my friend to have a breakdown when he discovered her illicit life. When they split he told some people the truth about her and she called him a liar to everybody and went a step further saying he had abused her. She posted disparaging articles about him online and also hacked into and destroyed his website for which she was facing felony charges. He told the truth about her online. Yes it may have stopped her getting work but not because she was stalked but because she had been a prostitute. A civil courtcase followed which her attorney eventually admitted that all her ex-boyfriends allegations were true. The case was settled when Tina withdrew her allegations and agreed not to disparage he ex in future. Well now she is playing the victim and people need to know the truth. You can read all the court documents for yourself. They are public records. Do a search for palm beach county court records and google then look up this case number 2015CA006767. All the court documents are there, all the filings. Even the statement from the detective if there. Tina stood the red carpet and lied saying her ex posted doctored pictures of her online. Strange how this was never mentioned in the court case. She is playing the victim here when she is in fact the aggressor. The people who made the movie are no better. Even 60 minutes, dateline, anyone who makes a decent documentary always give both sides a chance to put their case. I spoke to her ex and they movie makers did not bother to contact him to check any facts before making their unfair and biased documentary. I suggest you read the public record court pleadings for yourself and see just who did what, its all there. This is a shame because the other two stories in the movie seem genuine, but they have ruined it by trying to make a predator out to be a victim and not checking their facts. Tina is popping up on news channels, red carpets playing the feel sorry for me I am a victim card when nothing could be further from the truth. She has spent her whole life breaking the law and taking advantage of men. She even managed to clear up her reputation online with help from her ex when they settled the case. But now shes out spreading lies far and wide, its only fair that people read the truth and judge for themselves.
