This film reconstructs the true story of stockbroker William Griffith Wilson, a World War I veteran whose small drinking problem becomes a serious addiction after he loses his fortune in the stock market collapse of 1929. Wilson's career and his domestic life are in tatters when he meets Dr. Robert Holbrook Smith also struggling with a drinking problem. Find someone either you care about or who cares about you and take that first step. It's hell but it's not impossible. |

| User ReviewToMaSaNGreat movie! i just watched it in my Alcohol Therapy class and it was definitely touching. It was very much like 'Leaving Las Vegas' as where it clearly gives the message that alcoholism ruins lives. James Woods displays absolutely remarkable acting! a truly unforgettable performance. I subtracted one star because the film tends to lag and becomes repetitive in some areas, but i guess the repetitiveness was necessary to get the message across. 4-stars. |

| User ReviewJonathan DNice made for TV movie that stars James Woods as Bill Wilson the found of AA. I did think Woods was a little over acting at the beginning of the movie, but most actors do when they play a "drunk". Anyone that has any interest in AA should watch this movie. It's not preachy and it gives a nice history of Bill W. |
