| User ReviewLora NI got a lot more than what I was expecting from this film. It's more than just a group of bored housewives being liberated by a belly dancing class. In fact, their belly dancing instructor had little to do with their self discovery. It seemed simply coincidental that the belly dancing class was a catalyst for events in the movie. The film follows the women as they support each other in their escape to the dance class while trying to find happiness in the confines of their varying familial obstacles. The setting for the film is the Choi Hung housing estate, a massive 11 block structure with 7,400 apartments holding nearly 200,000 residents. It's an amazing backdrop for the intertwining stories of these women. The film does a wonderful job at capturing the emotional struggles of these women without providing easy solutions. It feels very real. There is no big dance finale or happy ending. Just optimism as these women learn to cope with lives and find acceptance from those around them. |

| User ReviewCurtis YA Beautifully shot film about the plight of 4 mothers. The big star is the housing complex they live in, which is portrayed as colorful, vibrant and at once alone and divisive. Amy Chum is fantastic as a woman who discovers her husband is cheating. Rousing and emotional performances. |
| User ReviewMarliana MIn Hong Kong a few working class women who have issues with there personal life and life itself discovers belly dancing to help them unwind and be happy..but its against asian culture to reveal bellies and dance seductively but they manage to find ways and time to practice and it helped them to gain inner peace. Pictures real life Hong Kong working class struggle and happiness. I watched it with my friend and we can't stop wiggling our butts after we got out of the cinema. |
