EmanuelLevy.ComEmanuel LevyThis musical extravaganza starring the gorgeous looking Rita Hayworth, made by Fox in WWII, won the Oscar Award for Art Direction.
Creative LoafingMatt BrunsonVictor Mature remains a fairly underrated actor, so it's not picking on him to state that he wasn't the best fit for this film.
User ReviewVale SPleasant Fox musical with gorgeous Technicolor photography.
User ReviewMac BPlot: silly but with some cute jokes. Songs: Paul Dresser, known for sweet sentimentality (i.e., kitsch)- pleasant if you suspend all sense of irony or sophistication. But Victor Mature is appealing and Rita Hayworth- well, it was the year she turned 25 and she never looked more gorgeous. Her acting was skillful and her dancing excellent (her singing dubbed). And there are Carol Landis, James Gleason, and Phil Silvers on hand to add color and charm. Enjoyable, forgettable, inoffensive.
