A flying bumble bee introduces the orchestral piece "Flight of the Bumble Bee". An unnamed orchestra plays the piece on a darkened set, the literal spotlight shone only on the musician or musicians featured during different passages of the piece. The bumble bee then flies off to Mexico, where a young man, with the assistance of a pipe playing boy, serenades a bouquet gathering señorita, who coyly plays hard to get.
