Leave your thoughts about Mr. Saturday Night.
Hartford CourantMalcolm Johnsonin Mr. Saturday Night, Billy Crystal nimbly makes the big leap from amiable (if sometimes irritating) funny man to serious, but not-too-serious filmmaker.
MovieholeClint MorrisOne of the best, if not the best, film of Billy Crystal's career
EmanuelLevy.ComEmanuel LevyBilly Crystall's feature directorial debut is a misfire: As an actor, he's too likable to play the egotistical comedian who torments everyone around him for the sake of his career.
User ReviewJeffrey MBilly Crystal is awesome in this movie, he portrays Buddy Young Jr., a washed up comedian who is trying to get his comedy career started again but like during his career, he has a few ups but so many downs. A great film with supporting cast members like Helen Hunt, Julie Warner, David Paymer, and Jerry Orbach.
User ReviewRalph TA love letter to the comedy industry. Should be required viewing for any comic who dares trod the boards.

User ReviewGuy WThis is one of my all time favourite films and it does this by being funny, organic, potent, tragic in ways that I've seen no other movie handle. At times its painfully funny and at times beautiful and others tragic that is lead by the robbed David Paymer as Buddy Young Jr's (Billy Crystal) brother Stan. For me this film is on Billy Crystal's shoulders who is never better and shines in every scene. However for me this is as much David Paymers film who we watch be treated in ways only a brother could emotional blackmail and rob a brother of. I don't usually like films that have a bigger chunk of the narrative devoted to the male performers but this is a true masterpiece.
User ReviewDan MI love this movie for Billy Crystal's comedic and dramatic genius. It is terrific, funny, sad and engaging.
User ReviewGordon SBilly Crystal wrote, directed, and starred in this film about an aging comedian. If you want an idea of what the Borscht Belt comedians were like, please check this movie out. Crystal is a genius, even under all that makeup. David Paymer was nominated for an Oscar as his brother but he should have won the Oscar as well. Go see this movie if you have yet to do so!
User ReviewGeoff BI really loved this movie...kid of like the Sunshine Boys...bug fan of Bily Crystal. Lots of laughs plus some good serious moments too.
