User Review - 10/10 by Matt HFun Shreveport filmed movie. Filmed at Cross Lake several years before the film was ever released. Evelyn was a very disturbed woman. Help me make it through the night!
User Review - 10/10 by Jonathan MGood Creation/Script but needs work pretty much it starts off good but than slowly get very dull also great tag line :D but the girl on the poster is not the one in the movie just saying but the main star dose appear on the French poster. The movie also has a creepy sound track and a possible sequel ... but as of now I would remake the main movie before attempting a sequel
User Review - 8/10 by ken jAfter spending seven years in a mental hospital Evelyn is released and goes right back to doing what she was before running the Mountaintop Motel untill one day in a fit of anger she up and kills her daughter convinceing the town sheriff that it was all a accident she is allowed to go keep running the motel till one night Evelyn up and snaps hearing voices she starts targeting her guests first with animals like snakes and rats then finally going after thm with her trusty sickle. Really what i believe is a great 80's horror film that should be checked out by anyone thats a fan of 80's horror not alot of blood but just enough and a good story that wont find you bored.

User Review - 8/10 by Larry YEvelyn is a pretty disturbed lady that owns a motel. When she finds her daughter doing a satanic ritual in the basement she murders her and then comes up with a lame excuse to tell the sheriff. She then gets some people that come and stay at the motel. She tries to scare them by releasing rats, bugs etc in their rooms. When that doesn't work she then one by one starts to kill them. This is by no means a masterpiece but it still is rather decent. It has that creepiness that you would want it a horror movie and definatly the killing and blood. It even has creepy abd eerie music in it too which makes it more scary. Not a movie gem but still was creepy enough for me.

Considering how low the ratings were for this film, I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this film. Though not the best Slasher film, Mountaintop Motel Massacre is a fun, cheesy horror film that you really can't take seriously. The film is interesting and despite being derivative, the film is a must see gem of slasher sleaze. The film lacks an effective body count, which is the low point of the film. However I enjoyed the film for what it was, a silly, cheesy slasher that will appeal to horror fans who enjoy this type of film. I was surprised that Mountaintop Motel Massacre was this good, as the reviews for this one have been less than favorable. However this is one of those underrated, forgotten 80's gems that is a must see for horror fans. Though not as good as many other slasher films of the 1980's, Mountaintop Motel Massacre still is entertaining enough to spend a good hour and a half. Like I said, the film does lack a high body count, so fans expecting gruesome kills after kills won't really find it here. Mountaintop Motel Massacre has a relatively low body count, and relies on steady pacing to create its horror. Though not scary, and more tongue in cheek than anything, Mountaintop Motel Massacre is an underrated film worth seeing, and a film that should be rediscovered by slasher fans everyone. The film is entertaining, and frankly doesn't deserve all the flack it has received. The film is far better than one might think, even if it's not the best. An entertaining time waster for what it is.

User Review - 6/10 by Steve ZI was surprised as to just how good this Film was. It starts out slow but steps up just when it needs to, so hold that dial and don't change it. The Special effects are real good considering the year that the film was made. I think that the blood and gore in this move set the bar for the use of a swing blade. This came in the Anchor Bay Double Drive In Pack, and out of the two movies I would say its the best. Others have copied reviews from web sites, I don't do that, Think the scenes with Crewshaw were so funny, he set the humor in a mild suspense film. 3 Stars and that?s good.
User Review - 6/10 by Colin ZOne of the few 80's horror films out there that I am not particularly fond of thanks in part to it's terribly slow pacing and dull moments. This is basically a female version of Psycho II as the lead woman is released from the asylum, but nothing is changed. She starts killing tenants in her motel instantly, in a couple of gruesome ways that managed to get a couple of stars for it, but otherwise, very dull. I will say it did have some creepy atmosphere going for it as well.
