Movie Reviews

ViewLondon - 6/10 by Isabel StevensJust like its feisty protagonist, Ishii Yuya's film is one of a kind (albeit perhaps not the kind for everyone).
Guardian - 6/10 by Andrew PulverIt isn't exactly a laugh a minute, and some of the comedy is way too broad, but it exerts a quiet hold.
CineVue - 6/10 by Patrick GambleIshii has managed to create yet another female driven drama which successfully weaves gentle comedy with an underlying social message.
What Culture - 5/10 by Shaun MunroArmchair philosophy and scarcely likable characters make Yûya Ishii's disappointing latest feature more of a challenge than a treat.
Total Film - 4/10 by Philip KempBefore long the shouting and gurning quotient reaches discomfort levels and the movie winds up just irritating.
Time Out - 4/10 by Cath ClarkeThe acting is at times unwatchably broad, ultimately squeezing the life and charm out of the whole enterprise.
Little White Lies - 4/10 by Liz HaycroftTake a nap until something better comes along.
User Review - 10/10 by Nick CWho said all Japanese are conventional?! A very enjoyable and touching wacky story. It's unconventional so it's not going to appeal to everyone, but that doesn't make it bad, just different.
