User ReviewMeag MIt's a wonderful speculation of what her life may have been like post-novels. Loved it!
User ReviewWiebke KAbout romance and pride. I will never look at a Jane Austen novel quite the same again.
User ReviewHung-Ya LThis is a great film about Jane Austen's life. Her later life. I enjoyed Becoming Jane, but I realize it was an elaboration of her life. This movie was the closest to her life that I assume they could have gotten from the remains of her letters. Loved it

User ReviewAnna BVery depressing, don't watch if you're having a bad day. I'm a very big Jane Austen fan & Know a little about her life, but seeing this made it more real than just reading about it. She is correct too that she could never have written her books if she'd married, as she would have been too bogged down by children & duty to devote time to write. Sad, as it's not like that in thi day & age.
User ReviewAnnie DWell done! Williams is extraordinary in this role, and the rest of the brilliant cast is just perfect, each one. The script is excellent, reflecting Austen's honest, playful and irreverent wit. The film is more of a character study than a drama, given the "slice of a life" biographical style, so the level of action and conflict is not always lively, but I found the ruminative, contemplative atmosphere appropriate. Visually gorgeous. I loved it.
