User ReviewJames SThis movie was an instant favorite for me. Hard to find but worth the search. This movie is a conversation between very different friends at very different points and on very different paths. It explores western philosophy and science and makes you think about your own perspectives.
User ReviewJoffre MI like this movie more than Waking Life. Very poignant discussion and love that Liv Ullmann is in it.
User ReviewGrant BSome of the best dialogue you will ever come across, if you're lucky enough to find this one. PABLO NERUDA!
| User ReviewLeona MThis is a great movie, if you are interested in a lot of dialog. It quite literally is a walk of the mind. | User ReviewLauren WA intellectual movie for non-intellectuals! And here I thought they didn't exist. I can't even begin to describe the brilliance of this movie, so watch it! |
User ReviewKarima Agreat dialogue... a very intellectual movie. The part when John Heard recites Pablo Neruda's "The Enigmas" is amazing.
User ReviewAlfred DA two hour conversation between a femal physicist, a poet and a politician discussing quantum physics, history, social issues, politics, poetry, and the web of life.
User ReviewAsh CA favorite... Saw this when I was very young and it left a big impression on me. Think it helped prompt my bent towards pondering philosophical questions and an interest in space. (not that I know anything ! Just helped spark my curiosity.) :-) Visually the castle at Mont St. Michael was a brilliant stroke. So many meanings to it. It stands resolute and unyielding in contrast to the characters musings on the flux of life and fleeting nature of existence.
User ReviewPi PFor me, this was the predecessor to "What The BLEEP Do We Know" and had an enormous impact on my understanding of philosophy similar to "Sophie's World."
