Out MagazineArmond WhiteMuch more than just a mystery movie, these male-female conflicts make Mike's Murder an all-American sexual thriller.
Las Vegas MercuryAnthony Del ValleA wonderful performance by Debra Wiinger helps flesh out this intriguing thriller about a missing man.
rec.arts.movies.reviewsJames Sanfordan unorthodox thriller that's less concerned with scaring viewers than it is with building a carefully controlled atmosphere of menace... a beautifully evoked, vaguely creepy atmosphere hangs over every scene...
User ReviewJeffrey PBank teller Betty (Debra Winger) is in love with erratic Mike (Mark Keyloun). One day, she's told he's been killed - and that there's much more to him than she realized. Slow pacing and a somewhat stilted tone make this mystery increasingly difficult to watch. Director Bridges lays out the world of drugs so methodically, you'd think this film had been made ten years earlier. Ms. Winger is appealing, but it's a bit puzzling why she doesn't become truly entangled in the plot well before the final quarter.
