Full Plot Details

After an outbreak of a mysterious virus, the world is dominated by vampires helped by the traitorous Vichys. The atheist Gwen Waters leaves the small town of St. Anthony on her bicycle, trying to find the alcoholic Priest Joe Cahill and bring him back to her town to give hope to the humans dwelling there. The plot was well-constructed, but unfortunately the acting coupled with poor execution and bad effects killed whatever worth the story had. Most of the time I was bored out of my mind while I waited for something to happen. The makeup and the special effects are horrible, and this was made in 2003. I know it wasn't a big-budget film, but they could have found good CG artists from anywhere, virtually for free. There are films with no budgets at all that produce better-looking crap than this. One star for trying, but trust me, I put myself through this punishment so you don't have to. Don't see it.

User Review - 2/10 by Tristan PThe F. Paul Wilson novel on which this is based was pretty good, but this adaptation is horrible. The main vampire sounds like Gary Marshall and the priest looks like a washed-up porn star. The only halfway decent thing about MIDNIGHT MASS are the locations they used, but that's hardly reason enough to watch this garbage.
