Avid movie-watcher and video store clerk Bazil has had his life all but ruined by weapons of war. His father was killed by a landmine in Morocco and one fateful night a stray bullet from a nearby shootout embeds itself in his skull, leaving him on the verge of instantaneous death. Losing his job and his home, Bazil wanders the streets until he meets Slammer, a pardoned convict who introduces him to a band of eccentric junkyard dealers including Calculator, a math expert and statistician, Buster, a record-holder in human cannonball feats, Tiny Pete, an artistic craftsman of automatons, and Elastic Girl, a sassy contortionist. When chance reveals to Bazil the two weapons manufacturers responsible for building the instruments of his destruction, he constructs a complex scheme for revenge that his newfound family is all too happy to help set in motion.
Leave your thoughts about Micmacs.
GeekweekLuke Y. ThompsonJeunet, like his obvious antecedent Terry Gilliam, is good at making stuff that's cool, and that should not be casually dismissed. But while he aims for the belly laugh, he misses the heart
Toronto StarPeter HowellMicmacs is like a Buster Keaton or Harold Lloyd movie where everybody is Buster or Harold, yet they all work in harmony.
MTVKurt LoderDany Boon is like a mime you don't want to shoot.
Ultra CultureCharlie LyneIt's a bit like a Jean-Pierre Jeunet film. It's very kooky...after a while I just gave in so I didn't have to sit through the 102 minute runtime crying quietly into my complimentary chocolate bar. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing.

Can MagazineFred TopelBy the way, is that a billboard for Micmacs in the movie? If I'm right, that is awesome.
JoBlo's Movie EmporiumChris BumbrayA wonderful comedic adventure. Is Dany Boon the new Chaplin?
Monsters and CriticsRon WilkinsonA zany, funny and heartwarming tale told through excellent photography and a smashing soundtrack.
FilmfestJason GorberMicmacs, if light and silly, is still a wonderful thing to behold, as clever and beautifully constructed as the wonderful automata that populate the tinker's workroom in the film.
