european-films.netBoyd van HoeijFor viewers interested in the Franco-Algerian question but put off by Haneke's Cache or Bouchareb's Indigèenes (Days of Glory), Thomas Gilou's comparatively breezy Michou d'Auber might be the perfect antidote.
User ReviewJohanne GExcellent!!
User ReviewMithila Minxy KA frightfully real take on Algeria after The Battle of Algiers. The issue of family and belongingness is deftly handled. Brilliant. Human.
User ReviewAnabelle EVery touching film. Depardieu is his usual brilliant self - thank goodness he did not make good on his threat to retire from acting. The speech he gives his foster son near the end of the film when his father comes to claim him is one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen in any movie, and if you have kids, you will be moved to tears by it as I was.
User ReviewSebastian ITres bon film !
User ReviewVladimir OA brilliant and touching film. Effectively presents both a romantic drama and an examination of personal identity.
