Leave your thoughts about Melody Time.
Kansas City KansanSteve CrumVery colorful, very musical Disney animation near-classic.
Chicago TribuneDonald LiebensonWalt Disney has let his animators and his color magicians have free rein in his latest cartoon package-picture, Melody Time. And again, as in Make Mine Music! he has come up with a gaudy grab-bag show in which a couple of items are delightful and the rest are just adequate fillers-in.
The A.V. ClubKeith PhippsThough not the masterpiece Disney's marketing would indicate, it is a charming, imaginative anthology of cartoon shorts set to music by the likes of such '40s favorites as Roy Rogers and The Andrews Sisters.
New York TimesBosley CrowtherLike healthy, imaginative children, those Disney boys are full of strange caprice. One minute they are doing something charming; the next minute they are slopping in the jam.
Antagony & EcstasyTim BraytonA film much more entertaining than you'd expect, even if only two of its seven sequences individually reach classic status.
User ReviewChris Michael SI had seen a few of the individual segments used in this film, and they had always been among my favorite Disney shorts. Melody Time is Disney's follow-up to Make Mine Music, and in my opinion it's the better of the two. Although it's still not up to par with Disney's first venture into the music anthology, Fantasia, it's still very entertaining and worth a look to anyone who loved watching old school Disney shorts.
User ReviewLiam UMelody Time is absolutely amazing. Following in the footsteps of Fantasia, another dramatic masterpiece, Melody Time can have your eyes glued to the screen for the entire movie. Melody Time follows the pattern of sketches, each directed through beautiful effort, along with an amazing score. Within those skethces lie incredible stories beyond anything you could ever believe. From the old west to Donald Duck playing the piano, this is exactly what classic films do: Use classic themes, scenes, and script. Enhanced with stunning brilliance, Melody Time practically takes Fantasia and turns it into something a little less dark, but a little more fun.
User ReviewDavid FThe most magical musical Disney film filled with Disney-made classical music of its own.
User ReviewTheScarlatescu Ramazing animation even by today's standards
