Leave your thoughts about Matching Jack.
TrespassJames MitchellMatching Jack's conclusion is a hopeful one (some may say thankfully) but it's much too tidy and rushed, a pure cookie-cutter Hollywood happy ending that betrays the realistic, at times poignant portrayal of childhood terminal illness that came before it.
Empire Magazine AustralasiaDavid Michael BrownBeautifully played and powerfully moving, despite the sugary clichés.
At the Movies (Australia)David StrattonThere's a lot to appreciate in a film which is really about the very basics -- life, love and death.
MovieTime, ABC Radio NationalJason Di RossoLynne Renew and David Parker's script is based on a wonderful premise, but the resulting film is uneven, straddling adult drama and family-friendly tear-jerker without doing either well.
sbs.com.auPeter GalvinMatching Jack has a squirmy kind of emotional truth to it. It's funny, but it's not a comedy.
The Age (Australia)Jake WilsonIf Matching Jack were a telemovie, I'd be tempted to switch off.
Herald Sun (Australia)Leigh PaatschThe very moments that the film goes wilfully off-topic prove to be its undoing.
User ReviewBorhan KIn one sentence this movie is the Australian equivalent to the American film My Sisters Keeper. The amazing things in this movie and My Sisters keeper is the determination of the mothers to fight to the last breath to make sure their children have every chance to survive no stone is unturned. The scene in this movie that really stands out for my is when james nesbitt looses it in the boat shed he breaks everything and screams you dont see it but hear it but its very powerful. One thing you should take away from this movie is that you should not take anything for granted and little things that seem to be issues are nothing compared to what can happen. Cherish what you have been given.
User ReviewMikko Hermanni PWarm heartfelt movie you'll need a box of tissues
User ReviewEm KSeriously could I fall more in love with James Nesbitt???!!! The answer is YES YES YES. I love this movie but by golly did I cry...it was a snot and all movie for me. If there were more stars to give it, I WOULD.
