Spirituality and PracticeFrederic and Mary Ann BrussatImpressive Canadian film about a young woman's expression of righteous indignation.
User ReviewElizabeth MMy husband worked in these very mines. His mothers house was exactly like the one show in the film. In fact the house was in his neighborhood. The town is not much different now then it was then. This movie is fiction, but laced with a truth few understand. This is a movie I would love to own.
User ReviewWalter CBeautiful scenery..I just love the east coast!!
User ReviewLinda BI love this movie!! Helena Bonham Carter is so awesome! A great story. Very sad. What an ending!!! My grandfather died of lung problems after working in coal mines in Scotland.
User ReviewShawn PIncredible movie. You just can't help but love Margaret, despite the outcome of the story.
User ReviewLance EPhenomemal, eye-opening, and truly and deeply sad. A great love story. An even better reminder that people all too often are pawns of the rich and sometimes (most of the time) we have no appreciation for the struggles of others in providing the comforts of modern life far away (heat, electricity). And Helena Bonham Carter! Is there anything this beutiful woman can't do? Snowboard? Play ultimate? She might be perfect.
User Reviewdebs dInteresting! Good Story & Really enjoyed it!
User ReviewI'm El Capitano! AA great, little-known movie about Cape Breton.
User ReviewZia Bre: alex bauer and jean harris- maybe people who can spell "genitalia" and "judgmental" correctly have a higher statistical chance of understanding the deeply involved concepts of the movie. This is a rich, fascinating, intellectually stimulating, important era movie to see. Even if you don't "like" it, anyone with half a brain should at least be able to appreciate it.
User ReviewZurino OI'm probably over-rating this because it's among the better Canadian movies I've seen... I wouldn't think it stacks up with other movies I've given four stars to, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. Compelling love story and a wonderful performance by Helena Bonham Carter.
