Full Plot Details

Mexican gunfighter Dave Robles outdraws gunfighter Dan Ritchy and later kills two outlaws while dispatching a third. As a result, Robles is asked to assume the office of sheriff after the previous lawman quits the job. But a tin star doesn't bring automatic respectability and Robles is shunned by the town's leading citizens. His popularity with its less-savory element, particularly saloon owner Bannister, wanes dramatically, too, as he starts to take his job seriously. It is his love for a decent, caring woman that keeps Dave in town, but can she convince him to lay down his gun and start a new life?

User Review - 6/10 by Allan CInteresting if flawed low budget western about gunman Anthony Quinn saving a town from outlaws, but the towns continues to hold racist attitudes toward him being a Mexican even though he was their savior. It's a interesting twist on "High Noon" that focuses on issues of race. Although Quinn gives a fine performance, coming off "La Strada" just two years earlier, the story is awfully muddled and drags at times. Still, it is an interesting film that is worth checking out for fans of offbeat westerns or fans of Quinn. Katy Jurado is also worth mentioning, who give s fine supporting performance.
