The Young Turks, one of the most popular online news shows in the world, has amassed a YouTube network consisting of millions of subscribers and billions of views. But that wasn't always the case. MAD AS HELL documents the tumultuous, at times hilarious and altogether astonishing trajectory of Cenk Uygur, The Young Turks' main host and founder, as he traverses from unknown Public Access TV host to internet sensation by way of YouTube. When he ventures into national television by landing the 6 PM time slot on MSNBC, Cenk's uncensored brand of journalism is compromised as he becomes a thorn in the side of traditional news media; his unwavering dedication to speaking the truth puts him at the very nexus of the battle between new and old media, and makes MAD AS HELL not only entertaining, but incredibly timely as well.

User ReviewMatt Cgreat spin on a documentary styled story of the largest news channel on youtube!
User ReviewJoel LAbsolutely awesome documentary, it gave me an appreciation of all the hard work and key decisions that needed to be made to make Cenk and TYT what they are today - the greatest news show ever . This most definitely reaffirms why I have been committed to watching and supporting TYT for the past 7 years = )
User ReviewRegina HI don't pretend to be a politically savvy person. Before my husband discovered TYT on YouTube, I trusted the government almost completely, and cared for politics very little. Thanks to The Young Turks bringing awareness of the truth into my life, I now care greatly about our political system, and trust the government next to not at all. Corruption and greed run rampant, but mainstream media won't tell you this. Only TYT has the balls to tell it like it is, favoring no party, the way journalism is meant to be. Mad as Hell is a wonderful look into the hows and whys behind Cenk's motivation, and now that I am informed enough to join in political conversation, I raise my voice with the truth. I tell people about Wolf-PAC, I debate locally popular opinion, and I do it with facts, thanks to TYT. Anyone even remotely interested in the political process and how to make a difference needs to watch Mad as Hell and see what motivation, hard work and sticking to your guns can do.
User ReviewChristopher RIf you want to see what the future of news media is, watch this movie. What brings people to watch a program like The Young Turks it is because they sense that they are being lied to and that the current media is doing them a disservice. A lot of people may not agree with Cenk, but you have to admire how genuine he is. There is no deceit or hidden agenda. He tells you what he wants up front, and he tells you how the establishment is screwing you over. This movie does a great job of examining the strange career of this man and the windy road he took. Liberal or conservative, take the time to watch this movie. It is so worth it.
User ReviewJacob MMad As Hell is a great window into the inner workings of the world's largest online news network and it's ascension. It's well paced and never stops entertaining with a healthy mix of comedy and drama throughout an interesting story. At first it seems like the story of Cenk Uygur: an underdog fighting his way to the top and achieving the American dream... but by the end I was left with a different assessment. Cenk isn't the underdog. He's the bully. He just happens to be on our side. Like Biff if he had a strong sense of justice.
User ReviewDavid LLove this flick. Caught it at Hot Docs in Toronto, where it received a standing ovation from the audience. It's unabashedly real.
User ReviewLon CLoved seeing the history of my favorite YouTube news commentary show, The Young Turks. When I used to watch Cable News, I wasn't really informed on how they twisted the news. When I watch his show, I'm informed and have a better understanding of what occurs in our Nation and politics.
User ReviewAaron WOld media is dead, long live new media! Cenk Uygur is at the vanguard of a media revolution, if you've never heard of Cenk this documentary is a great intro to Cenk Uygur and The Young Turks.
User ReviewMatty BWord to the wise. Professional movie critics are the worst. Their axe grinding and snooty privileged lives or lack of any life at all muddy the waters. Go off the audience ratings on this documentary. Movie critics are largely oblivious to politics. Cenks story is an important one and is an inspiration for everyone.
User ReviewChris HPleasantly surprised at how good this documentary was on the entrepreneurship process and what it took for Cenk and his crew to get where they are now.
