Compiled from over two years of footage, the film is an intimate portrait of David Lynch's creative process as he completes his latest film, Inland Empire (2006). We follow Lynch as he discovers beauty in ideas, leading us on a journey through the abstract which ultimately unveils his cinematic vision. The director of the documentary immersed himself in David Lynch's world; living and working at Lynch's home. His unobtrusive style has captured a personal side of David Lynch not seen before. The film reveals Lynch not only as one of the most original and compelling directors of contemporary film but also as an artist who continues to explore and experiment in countless mediums. We witness his "hands on" approach to painting, sculpting, music and screenwriting. His enthusiasm is infectious; inspiring us to tap into the well of creativity that Lynch believes we all have.

Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzNever brought us closer to understanding the complex director.
User ReviewTim GA journey into the world of a creative and amazing mind. The movie does not give any answers but I felt it was a poetic visional expirience that fed my imagination. And the music was really nice.
User ReviewRobert IUndeniably the best David Lynch documentary. The cameras follow Lynch first on a photography project, painting, while he runs his website, but then also making "Inland Empire". The film is pure insight into the creative man's thought process. Missing though is meditation which is talked about, but not fully shown. There's one thing for certain while watching it: The man isn't crazy.
User ReviewReiyan BIf this is an accurate portrayal of how Lynch really is then he is exactly what I thought he would be...a complete rambling fool that is unlike anyone else you've ever met. He is the one director that I would do any job to work on either his cast or crew. I would be his movie making bitch if only to see that screwball in action.
User ReviewOscar RDAVID LYNCH "What a heavy load Einstein must have had. Fucking morons everywhere." -Lynch
User ReviewJoey Li could watch / listen to david lynch talk about anything for hours.
User ReviewOmer OLynch is the most important director in cinema history for me, in addition the director of this movie uses a nick name which caused rumors that the real director is Lynch himself, and lastly as i have seen his last movie Inland Empire and could not understand mush, i was really curious to see this documentary.. The documentary truely reftelcts the style of Lynch, mostly dark, beuatiful editing, Å?ynch showing at each moment, mostly showing the period of directing Inland Empire.. Actually, it is worth to see at least for watching his pasion on meditaion and photography, his believe in creativity rises with happiness.. in addition his mind full of ideas, his melodramatic character, his works on the movie materials, and relation with the cast.. Especially for the Lynch fans, it is a must to see documentary..
User ReviewAndrew BThis is a wonderful peak into the mind of a truly unique and incredible film artist. What a strange person. Strangely awesome that is.
