User ReviewAmanda PThis Is A Good Family Movie Lauren Ambrose And Adam Kaufman Do a Very Good Job I Like Hallmark Movie.
User ReviewSarah CLovely movie giving an insight into jewish practises. It is a sweet love story of the common theme of convenience marriage turns into love. And explores the differences between conservative jewish practises and more liberal Jewish practises. The movie has no swearing, and didn't show disrespect to God or Jewish practises throughout.
User ReviewWanda Enice story but wat a tradition, still ending in a satisfactory note

User ReviewElaine YI wish Hallmark would make a second movie about Leah and Jake!!! Please, LOVED this film!!
User ReviewClaire RSurprisingly, I loved it!! A different take on a traditional story, and I learned a lot about religion. I don't believe in leverit marriages but let's face it the story needed a happy ending. It worked, even for a synic like me!!
User ReviewRoland SThis is the second very jewish movie i've seen and it's not bad for what it is. There seems to be this new thinking of sharing some of the finer features of the faith. There's a 'divore type' cermony that hilarious and there's also a thing about wives' hairs ...stuff like that. As an observer, you might find yourself thinking there seems to be lots of similarities between the Jewish and Muslim way of life ...best not to repeat that out though. Guys, stick with it; there's a damage control purchase that will bring a tear to your eye. There's also a conversation with the mother in law that will make you take notes. I don't know what the Jamaican tourist authority 'contributed' to the movie but they get alot of mention. As this is a tv movie, there's that sad piano music pretty much all through it and there's even ad placement breaks. All in all, it's a good sunday afternoon movie. ...oh that other jewish movie, 2 brothers, 1 really religious, 1 not so much ...both still very traditional though. So when that other one is having the affair with wife, they dont take their clothes off. If this all sounds familiar, let me know as I cant for the life of me remember the name or the guy that was in it ...he's been in some movies. He was a jeweler (the bad one).
User ReviewSunshine BTypical Hallmark cutesy movie. When his Rabbi brother dies, Jake must renounce his brother so he does not have to marry his widow (Lauren Ambrose). Jake cannot go through with renouncing his brother, so he lands up in a marriage of convenience with Leah. Well, you can see where this is going. I found Lauren miscast as Leah. She is not mousy enough and doesn't look very Jewish to me. As cutesy and predictable as the movie is, I still give it 3 *'s for its entertainment value.
User ReviewMelissa AIt was interesting enough, but I didn't like the overall message it gave off.
